Cross Winds to Host Community Mission Project
The Cross Winds Stitches of Love Sewing Group will host a community sew-a-thon for Days for Girls, a non-profit that supplies kits to young girls in remote parts of the world who do not have access to feminine hygiene supplies.
These feminine hygiene kits allow the young women to stay in school during their menstrual cycle. According to the Days for Girls organization, these kits are key to social change for women all over the world. The poverty cycle can be broken when girls stay in school.
You do not need to be a sewer to participate in the sew-a-thon. There are plenty of non-sewing tasks to be done! All supplies will be provided. You are welcome to bring a sewing machine but do not have to for participation.
Join us at: Cross Winds UMC Fellowship Hall Thursday October 10, 2019 6:00 – 8:30 pm
If you would like to bring donations for the Days for Girls kits, these are the items needed:
- one-gallon size Ziplock freezer bags
- dark wash cloths
- travel-sized soaps
- cotton or flannel fabric
Bring a friend, hear the Days for Girls story, and help make a difference in the life of a young girl!
