Days for Girls Sew-a-thon
Mark your calendars for a Days for Girls Sew-a-thon on October 11th from 6:00 – 8:30 pm at Cross Winds in the fellowship hall. The Stitches of Love Sewing Group is hosting this event.
Through Days for Girls, you can make a difference in the lives of girls and women in developing countries by helping to make reusable feminine hygiene items. The Days for Girls’ kits allow girls to attend school when they have their periods so they don’t miss out on getting the education they need and deserve.
Everyone is welcome to help. You don’t need to be a sewer to participate as we have many non-sewing tasks to do. If you are a sewer, you are welcome to bring your machine.
Donations of hotel-sized soap, thin washcloths, gallon size Ziploc brand freezer bags, washed flannel (dark and wild patterns are best), washed 100% cotton fabric (smallest size 5” x 5”) and monetary donations are always appreciated.
